Founded in 1994 by Willem Brands based on strong experience in the seafood business and transportation. Urk is considered a major distribution hub of Seafood in Europe and in the recent expansion a dedicated space for carton pick & pack was developed which will strengthen its offering in distribution.

AGRO Merchants Group was founded in January 2013. Along with its financial partner, Oaktree Capital Management, AGRO Merchants currently owns and operates over 6.7 million cubic meters of temperature-controlled warehouse and distribution space in the U.S, UK, Austria, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Australia, Brazil, Chile and the Netherlands.

AGRO Merchants Group is strategically located to serve ports, distribution hubs, and production locations via ship, rail, truck and air. AGRO Merchants Group operates its own refrigerated trucks (over-the-road and port-drayage), and offers a variety of on-demand non-asset based transportation management services. The company also offers multi-modal global freight forwarding services for their customers distribution needs. They have the local logistical knowledge to support multiple ocean container import and export transits, devanning and cross-dock order management, and forward distribution for your cold chain needs.

Temperature Controlled Storage

State of the art facilities provide accurate temperature control and cold chain management integrity for all major food commodities including beef, pork, poultry, seafood, bakery products, fruits and vegetables. With over 7.5 million sq. feet (700,000 sq. meters) and 401,000 pallet positions of storage capacity. The company is certified across a variety of international product handling and governmental standards including USDA, FDA, BRC, IFS, HACCP, GSFI, and ISO22000.
