Buffaload Selects Carrier Transicold Vector 1950
Warrington, England, March, 2016, One of the UK’s largest double-deck temperature-controlled trailer operators, Buffaload Logistics, has selected Carrier Transicold ’s Vector™ 1950 system to support a 15-trailer fleet expansion, because of the units’ excellent cold chain performance, durability and suitability for double-deck trailer operations. Carrier Transicold, which operates in the UK as Carrier Transicold U.K., is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The 15 Vector 1950 systems are mounted to 13.6 metre tri-axle Gray & Adams double-deck refrigerated trailers, and will join the Cambridgeshire-based logistics provider’s 140-strong fleet, which includes over 100 temperature-controlled double-deckers. The new trailers are expected to operate 24/7, 365 days a year.
“Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1950 system offers a perfect balance of reliability, low maintenance and high performance,” said Graham Usher, sales director, Buffaload. “We continually aim to provide the very best in customer service and the solution of a double-deck trailer with a Vector 1950 unit is an excellent combination. We can maximise capacity in our double-deck trailers, while minimizing reefer unit downtime and protecting the cold chain.
“We already operate a number of Carrier Transicold units in our fleet, and we’re confident the Vector 1950 units will help us continue to deliver. Our drivers find Carrier Transicold units easy to operate, which helps to streamline our day-to-day operations and keep everything running on time,” Usher added.
The 15 new trailers will operate from Buffaload’s four sites in the UK: the company’s Ellington headquarters; plus depots in Avonmouth, Wigan and Livingston.
Buffaload counts supermarket chains among its clients. It also says it operates the largest short-term rental fleet of temperature-controlled double-deck and urban multi-temperature trailers in the country.
